No one in his or her sane mind would want to experience pain, both physically and mentally unless you’re a born masochist. For normal people, we abhor pain and if we had a choice, we’d live in a world that’s free of pain. Sadly, this is not our reality but with modern technology, what was impossible then has become possible now. Believe it or not but you can literally go under the knife without pain! If you don’t believe us, ask your Oral Surgeon Aventura.

IV Anesthesia

With an IV anesthesia, you will be asleep the whole time, which means you won’t be able to feel anything. This is the type of anesthesia that is often used in oral surgeries. The drugs will be administered through an intravenous line. While the surgery is ongoing, your anesthesiologist will regularly monitor your blood pressure, breathing, and heart rate.

Local Anesthesia

The anesthetic medication will be applied near the nerves of the site where your dentist will be working on. You’ll have to wait for a couple of minutes before you’ll feel a numbing sensation. Before the injection, a topical anesthetic will be applied in your mouth to make the shot painless.

Balanced Anesthesia

This type of anesthesia is actually a combination of both local and IV anesthesia. Since it’s hailed as the most effective and the safest of all, this is usually the anesthesia of choice chosen for most oral surgeries.
