Bone Grafting

What Is Bone Grafting?

Bone grafting is a common procedure that’s frequently used for dental implants and other periodontal procedures. It’s the perfect solution if you want to restore your smile with a dental implant or another restorative device, but don’t have adequate jaw bone to support it. Bone grafting is a term that describes a variety of procedures used to “build” bone so that we can place the dental implant and you can achieve your dream smile.

Types of Bone Grafting

Ridge Augmentation

A ridge augmentation is a common dental procedure that is often performed after you lose a tooth to help improve the size and shape of your gums and jaw so that a tooth replacement device can be placed.

Sinus Augmentation

A sinus augmentation repositions your sinus floor so that you have enough space to properly place a dental implant. During this procedure, various grafting materials are used to encourage your bone to grow quickly.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

We routinely use platelet rich plasma (PRP) in oral surgeries that involve hard and soft tissues to help accelerate healing and tissue regeneration. Using PRPs in surgery helps ensure that you have the best opportunity to successfully heal from your surgery.
