TMJ

What is TMJ?

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) affects many people every year, especially women. It’s when your bones, teeth, and muscles of the temporomandibular joint (located in your upper jaw, near your ear) don’t work properly. TMJ can prohibit you from chewing, talking, yawning, moving your jaw, and countless other necessary movements. TMJ can even cause toothaches, headaches, neck aches, dizziness, earaches, hearing problems, upper shoulder pain, and ringing in the ears. But don’t worry, if you think you’re suffering from TMJ, our Florida oral surgeons can help.

TMJ Treatment Options

Here at Oral Facial Reconstruction and Implant Center, we offer a wide range of TMJ treatments. We are one of the first offices in the United States to offer TMJ arthroscopy as an in-office procedure, which is highly successful in decreasing the pain and dysfunction of this disorder. In addition to arthroscopy, we also offer laser surgery, total joint replacement, splint therapy, disc repositioning and discectomy, and more. Schedule your initial TMJ consultation with us today!
