From Carcacas, Venezuela, Dr. Italo A Di Prisco received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the Central University of Venezuela. In 2005, he graduated top of his class. He received a sports scholarship during his time in dental school and was even ranked as a top 5 pro tennis player at the age of only 17. In 2011, he went on to complete a surgical internship. In 2015, he completed specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital. It was during this time that he served as Chief Resident. Once he completed his residency, he was awarded the prestigious Faculty Award for Outstanding Patient Care. During the course of his learning, Dr. Di Prisco had the opportunity to study under Dr. Robert Marx, a world-renowned Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Dr. Marx is known to have pioneered many of the leading techniques used by oral surgeons today.Dr. Di Prisco has been trained in the full spectrum of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty and was able to get hands-on experience treating cases from all over the world. His extensive experience includes facial trauma surgery, tumor and reconstructive surgery, tissue engineering, growth factors, corrective jaw surgery, dental implantology, management of impacted wisdom teeth and advanced ambulatory anesthesia techniques. He is licensed in Florida, Virginia and West Virginia in Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.Dr. Di Prisco is a member of numerous local and national professional organizations and is a fluent Spanish speaker. In his free time, Dr. Di Prisco spends time with his wife, Jerra Lynn. The two enjoy traveling, playing tennis, being involved with the church and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Di Prisco is a knowledgeable and experienced doctor and an all-around great guy. We couldn’t be more excited to have him join the Oral Facial Reconstruction and Implant Center team on August 1st!
